Steam baths of gay saunas are the realm of silhouettes par excellence: of bodies with blurred shapes.
When we are in there, we feel an indistinct presence, both alone and observed, naked and invisible. 
What fascinates us so much in ruins? Their longevity or decay?
A bit of both probably, and this fascination is nowhere more visible today than in spas, badehaus and sauna complexes. 
Dark corridors of gay saunas are the playing field of men seeking pleasure with other men. They hunt or let themselves hunt in a neverending ritual.
Hunters follow their prey in the labyrinth of dark rooms. 
Cabins are the only places of privacy in gay saunas.
They are the only places where the other matters: not the dick or the silhouette but a specific guy.
Four wooden walls and a plastic mattress are the simplest expression of the interest two people can have for each other. 
Dressing at the exit of a sauna is a bit like putting on the costume of a walk-on role.
I imprison my body under layers of clothes and take my old habits.

Abandoned spaces are seemingly petrified: a fountain, a crumbling wall, a brick stairway and a rock in the middle of nowhere.

Seeking protection from or exposure to the sun’s rays is of universal concern in the plant and animal kingdoms: from plants whose growth is guided by the sun to mammals searching for shade in hot weather.
